Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
As far as today’s Indian films are concerned, the most anticipated title on IMDb is Pushkar-Gayathri’s ‘Vikram Vedha’ Hindi remake. The neo-noir action thriller revolves around the two titular characters – a tough and upright police officer Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) and a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan).
The second buzziest title on IMDb as of now is Anudeep KV’s bilingual drama ‘Prince’ featuring Sivakarthikeyan alongside Ukrainian actor Maria Ryaboshapka in the lead roles.
And the third most anticipated Indian title on IMDb is Mani Ratnam’s period epic film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name. The movie features an ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Prakash Raj, amongst others.
As far as Indian OTT titles are concerned, only one movie – Netflix’s ‘Jogi’ starring actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh (Udta Punjab, Soorma), has made it to IMDb’s most anticipated Indian titles list. The film is set in the year 1984 in Delhi against the brutal backdrop of the anti-Sikh riots and how the protagonist takes up the daredevil task of transporting a large group of people from Delhi to Mohali.
