Most Eligible Bachelor, a rom-com starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles hit the theatres on the 15th of this month. The film opened to mixed reception from cine goers and critics alike. However, thanks to the festival season, the film is expected to get off to a fairly decent start at the box office. Now, we are hearing an update pertaining to Most Eligible Bachelor’s OTT release date.
As per reports, Most Eligible Bachelor might be made available for streaming on Aha Video from the 12th of November, just 4 weeks post its theatrical release. Aha Video had already bagged the post theatrical digital streaming rights of the Akhil starrer. The platform has been looking to expand its footprint in the twin Telugu states and the best way to do so is by orchestrating an early OTT release for its flagship films.
With this in mind, team Aha is acting accordingly. The platform is set to stream Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Love Story from the 22nd of this month, which is exactly four weeks post its theatrical outing date. Now, Aha Video is doing something very similar with Most Eligible Bachelor as the platform plans to stream the film four weeks post its theatrical release.
Moreover, given the Covid situation, the audience are not stepping out to watch films in theaters in big numbers. The fact that films like Raja Raja Chora, and Love Story which garnered good word of mouth but struggled to make it big at the box office proves the same. New releases are failing to hold the momentum at the box office post the second weekend. So, there is point in holding back on OTT release. Aha Video is well aware of the same and that is the reason why the platform intends to stream Most Eligible Bachelor from 12th of November. An official announcement on the same is awaited though.
