Mr Bachchan: Disgrace to the Original Raid?

Bachchan’s surname is not a common thing in India. This was used as a pen name to fore renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. And we all know how Amitabh Bachchan embedded this name in the history of the world with diamond letters.

But, we wonder why films made with the Bachchan name are so terrible. Bol Bachchan was hardly a comedy, Bachchan Pandey was the extension of the pandemic as whoever watched it became mentally affected for a while.

Now, there is a new Bachchan in the market, it is called Mr Bachchan. The film starring Ravi Teja dropped its trailer yesterday. Needless to say, Ravi Teja’s film was directed in the Ravi Teja style.

It has sexist songs, unnecessary and unbelievable action and many things which a film like Raid never needed.

But, the problem isn’t the change in the way of approach. Of course, Raid was a different film and Mr Bachchan is different.

But, this is a sort of disgrace to the story of “Sharda Prasad Pandey” who led India’s longest-running raid. A film based on such a serious subject needs serious treatment. More than anything, it reflects the lack of guts of the makers, who are always willing to do injustice to the story as long as the image of the so-called “star” is not compromised.

Just to let you know, the last solo hit of Ravi Teja was Dhamaka, released in 2022. His last three films are big flops.
