Yup, you read it right! YouTube sensation, MrBeast, has struck a deal with Amazon MGM to create his first reality competition show, Beast Games. Amazon has hailed the series as “the biggest reality competition series in television history.”
Beast Games is set to become the biggest reality competition show in the world. Amazon has yet to reveal the show’s actual format. But the show is expected to take some inspiration from MrBeast’s globally prominent YouTube channel. It will consist of 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash payout. The amount of Beast Games’ prize money is the biggest single cash prize in the history of streaming and television. Previously, Season 1 of Netflix’s Squid Games: The Challenge reality series offered the biggest cash prize, $4.56 million.
MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, will host and serve as one of the executive producers for Beast Games. According to some reports, Amazon managed to outbid one of its major streaming competitors to strike a deal with MrBeast. In addition to his hosting and executive producer duties, Donaldson will also handle the show’s overall creative control.
MrBeast has been active on YouTube since 2016 and has made over 800 videos. His YouTube channel currently has over 245 million subscribers. He is best known for releasing clips of his philanthropic acts. He has donated millions in supplies and food for those in need.
