Marvel’s TV shows were making the headlines for their mature ratings. The recent show Moon Knight is much more violent than we usually see in their shows. But now the upcoming series MS Marvel gets a surprising rating. Disney Plus revealed that the show gets a TV-PG rating, which says Ms. Marvel won’t have profane violence like we saw before in MCU.
This is the first instance where a MCU project gets a TV-PG rating. Marvel movies and TV shows usually get a PG-13 and TV-14 respectively. And the recent update of the Disney Plus which adds Netflix shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher also pushed the limits of rating a further higher with a TV-MA rating which features graphic violence, sexual content and strong language which are not usually seen in MCU.
The Ms Marvel’s rating suggests that the show will be more audience friendly and light hearted. This show will explore the life a teen ager who gets supernatural powers. Hardcore violence may not suit to this show due to this plot. But it won’t decrease the fight sequences because TV-PG will have mild violence. Ms Marvel will be a sigh to those MCU fans who hate graphic violence and harsh language
Iman Vellani who is the first Muslim Pakistani hero for MCU will be playing the titular role Ms Marvel in the upcoming show. The six episodes series is set to premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar from 8 June 2022.
