Anthologies are the most “in” thing at the moment for the Indian cinema. To take this forward, another brand new anthology is on the way. Titled “Kaali Peeli Tales”, the anthology series has 6 films in it, where each will tell a tale that is very relatable to human emotions.
All the six films in “Kaali Peeli Tales” are directed and written by Adeeb Rais, whose previous works includes short film Baatein and web series Yeh Crazy Love. The anthology recently wrapped up its final shoot.
The makers have got onboard a massive cast for all the films. The cast includes Vinay Pathak, Soni Razdan, Gauahar Khan, Sayani Gupta, Maanvi Gagroo, Sharib Hashmi, Hussain Dalal, Priyanshu Painyuli, Sadia Siddiqui, and Tanmay Dhananya amongst others. Madmidaas Films is the production house behind the films.
The series, ‘Kaali Peeli Tales’ looks deep into the essence of love, relationships, and specifically life in Mumbai. The stories cover some of the very complex themes like infidelity, open marriage, homosexuality, commitment phobia, divorce, along with a plethora of human emotions.
As the series is based in Mumbai and also going by the name of it, a very significant part of Mumbai will play a key role in it. The black and yellow taxis, which are an integral part of every Mumbaikar’s lives, make crucial appearances throughout the films.
As mentioned by Adeeb Rais himself, all the films will have their beginning and ending point in a taxi of Mumbai, which will be a common thread connecting all the movies. The iconic taxis of Mumbai without doubt have been an essential part of several stories for people in Mumbai. The movie will definitely be able to get to the fans as they witness these beautiful stories unfold.
The series of 6 films, right now is at the last stage of post production. The makers believe that they will soon be able to release it for the audience to witness. Adeeb Rais also has said that fans of the actors who are part of the films will definitely love them as everyone of them will be essaying an offbeat and unique role in their stories, making it even more special.
