After a successful run at the box office, ‘Jana Gana Mana‘ was released on OTT giant Netflix today. Netflix had bought the post-theatrical streaming rights even before the film became a commercial and critical success. Looks like Netflix made a very smart choice!
By obtaining rights to this Malayalam film, Netflix has definitely hit a bullseye. ‘Jana Gana Mana’ had a fantastic time at the box office. Viewers and critics showered the film with praises for addressing an extremely sensitive social issue in the best possible way. This film is a social and political drama about the horrifying story of rape and murder of a college professor. The thought-provoking and thrilling plot will keep you hooked till the end. ‘Jana Gana Mana’ stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Mamta Mohandas in pivotal roles. The film is bankrolled by Prithviraj’s wife & journalist Supriya Menon, under their own banner Prithviraj Productions. This film is Prithviraj’s first release on Netflix. His other OTT releases ‘Kuruthi’, ‘Cold Case’, and ‘Bhramam’ were all released on Amazon Prime Video.
