MXPlayer Appoints Ex-TVF Employee As A Top Official For Its New BusinessMXPlayer has brought on board Rahul Sarangi as the Vice President and Head – New Business. An alumni of St. Xavier’s College, Rahul Sarangi’s last employer was TVF (The Viral Fever) where he was the Global Head – Business & Content for about two years. Reportedly, core members of TVF are walking out due to some internal issues.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Sarangi has more than 16 years of experience in broadcating, large productions, scripted & unscripted, live sports and digital content & business. Also, he has a comprehensive understaing of content and business in media.

Rahul started his career as an AD in commercial with Kundan Shah. He was the Senior Supervising Producer for MTV Asia and was also a part of the launch team of Colors TV. In 2019, he became the first Indian to be nominated for Emmy Award in the Unscripted Category.

The Times Internet owned MXPlayer has been one of the top OTT players in the country and has constantly been trying to expand its operations and viewer base, as was evident with the launch of MX TakaTak, a short video making app. The platform’s recent series ‘Aashram’ starring Bobby Deol directed by Prakash Jha is being highly anticipated. With all this and much more going on, roping in experienced people like Rahul Sarangi becomes more so important for MXPlayer.
