Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming documentary ‘My Name Is Pauli Murray’ based on the life of legendary lawyer Pauli Murray is something that is relevant even today, multiple decades later. ‘My Name Is Pauli Murray’ is coming to theatres on 17th September and will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 1st October onwards.
A visionary in every sense Murray was way ahead of her time. She wasn’t just an attorney but also a civil rights activist, writer, poet, priest and a dedicated memoirist. Murray fought against social injustice like racism, gender inequality and gender identity with all that she could, much before most of the people known today to take a stand for what’s right.
Murray is regarded as one of the most influential figures of 20th century American history. But unfortunately some of the most politically consequential events of the time foreshadowed both her personal life and tireless advocacy. This documentary is thus an effort to bring to light her contributions towards the society.
As per Amazon, told largely in her own words, ‘My Name Is Pauli Murray’ is a candid recounting of Murray’s unique and extraordinary journey. Coming from the makers of ‘RBG’, the 91 minutes long documentary is helmed by Betsy West and Julie Cohen. Talleah Bridges McMohan serves as its producer.
‘My Name Is Pauli Murray’ will release in theatres on 17th September and will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 1st October onwards.
