While all the streaming services are busy in the rat race to become the number one streaming giant in India, an Indian entertainment company, Toonz Media Group is trying to join the bandwagon. They have launched a new OTT platform MyToonz, the target audience of which are kids.
The main idea behind this new venture was to create a safe space for kids in the digital domain and bring them entertainment from the comfort of their homes. The MyToonz app is now available on iOS, Android and Android TV play stores; Roku video-on-demand (VoD) platform, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, and for Airtel users in India it is available on Airtel Xstream app.
To make it easier for the kids, the content slate will be divided into groups – pre-schoolers, upper pre-schoolers, and early teens. MyToonz has already launched 1500 half hours of content and have been adding new titles every week. MyToonz is also multilingual with content in four languages – Hindi, English, Spanish, and Russian. “We have envisaged MyToonz as the go-to destination for kids to watch safe, fun and nutritious content, which will be available in multiple global languages,” said Toonz Media Group CEO P Jayakumar.
An OTT platform entirely dedicated to children sounds like a wonderful idea. But only time will tell if MyToonz becomes as successful as the existing streaming services.
