Nadaaniyan was released on Netflix India on the 14th and since then it has been in news. People have hated the film and the critics were not at all unforgiving. The film lacks substance and it has practically nothing other than polished fairy tale kinda college romance.
However, there was one thing at which Nadaaniyan absolutely excelled. It is meme materials. The movie has so many bad scenes and so many pathetic dialogue deliveries that it is a sort of meme’s haven. And that is perhaps the only way that the film benefits because the views tell a whole different story.
The views are actually nice. Given the reviews and trolling it received, people are actually exploring how bad the film is. That is why the film was the third most-watched non-English film on Netflix last week with over 43,00,000 views. It is a pretty good number for any film let alone Nadaaniyan.
Anyway, it still can’t be justified that the movie even exists. It is very difficult to watch films and not for very good reasons. Nadaaniyan surpassed Emergency, Azaad, Vidaamuyarchi and Thandel. Well, not that Nadaaniyan is much worse than the other Indian films on the list but in terms of views it is definitely more successful.
