Naga Chaitanya Completes Shoot for Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’

Aamir Khan‘s much awaited film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha‘ is nearing completion and most actors associated with the movie have completed filming their parts, the latest being Tollywood actor Naga Chaitanya. The film is an official remake of the 1994 classic ‘Forrest Gump’, which featured Tom Hanks in the lead. Aamir Khan had earlier said that he was always fascinated by this film and wanted to make its Indian version. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is being directed by Advait Chandan and jointly produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The film, starring Aamir in the lead, with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in important roles, was slated to release on Christmas last year, and is now scheduled for a theatrical release this year on 25th December.

This film marks the Bollywood debut of Telegu star Naga Chaitanya and is another big association between Bollywood and the southern film industries. Post shooting for a month-long schedule with the cast and crew in Srinagar, the actor wrapped up his portions and a farewell was celebrated earlier today with a cake session. Although not released directly by the actor or the makers, videos and photos from the farewell made it to social media platforms and are now viral.

Naga Chaitanya plays the role of an Army officer ‘Bala’ in the film, who is a close confidante of Aamir’s character. ‘Chay’, as he is fondly referred to as, reportedly heavily trained for his scenes and beefed up to look his part. Ever since he joined the sets, several pictures surfaced on social media platforms and fans couldn’t get enough of his military look and charming moustache.

On the work front, the actor is awaiting the release of his movie ‘Love Story’ directed by Sekhar Kammula, opposite Sai Pallavi. The official release date is yet to be confirmed after it was postponed due to the pandemic. He is also filming for the Vikram Kumar directed ‘Thank You’ alongside Raashii Khanna.
