Nagarjuna Akkineni Plans On Taking A Sabbatical After ‘The Ghost’

After wielding the Nandi Astra in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’, Nagarjuna Akkineni will appear in the upcoming Telugu action thriller, The Ghost. The film has Praveen Sattaru at the helm.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actor confirms that he is planning on taking a break from acting after the release of Sattaru’s forthcoming directional venture, “After The Ghost, what I have done is, on purpose I have taken a sabbatical,” says the on-screen Don Surya.

He continued, “I think we need another six months more time to understand what people are coming to theatres for, and what they are going for OTT. So when the scripts are coming, I have to decide – ‘Okay, this we should keep for OTT, because I am open to doing OTT films too, and this we should do a theatrical release’. I am trying to figure it out.”

Nagarjuna also pointed out that the days of “doing what he feels like are gone”.

It seems clear that Nagarjuna Akkineni is looking to give his career a new direction. Apart from him, ‘The Ghost’ treasures talents like Sonal Chauhan, Gul Panag, Anikha Surendran, Manish Chaudhari, Ravi Varma, and many more. Fans will see him playing a retired RAW field operative who plans on taking down a crime syndicate and saving the daughter of his sister. It will hit the theatres on October 5.
