Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju is announced for theatrical release during the coming Sankranthi season. The film is likely to release in theatres towards the end of January 2nd week. The makers will be announcing the theatrical release date very soon. Meanwhile, there have been rumors that the makers of Bangarraju are orchestrating an early OTT release for the film. These rumors spread like wildfire and ZEE5, who own the theatrical, digital, and satellite rights of the film had to react on the same.
Reacting to a social media post that read “Upcoming Movie’s OTT Agreements. #Bangarraju 14 Day’s Theatrical Run (Zee Studio), ZEE5’s social media handle wrote “We request you all not to engage with rumours going around #Bangarraju, as the fans have expected it will be a spectacular theatrical release while following the covid norms and regulations set by the government.”
ZEE5 has now clearly implied that Bangarraju will not be getting an early OTT release and the emphasis is solely on theatrical release now. And that is understandable, given the fact that Bangarraju is a better suited film for Sankranthi release. It is also heard that the film is receiving fancy offers from buyers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Also, if Radhe Shyam gets postponed, Bangarraju will be the sole biggie to release in theatres this Sankranthi, which will further boost its theatrical prospects.
Bangarraju is the prequel of Soggade Chinni Nayana. The film is directed Kalyan Krishna and it has Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Krithi Shetty, Ramya krishnan, and others in important roles. The release date announcement is not too far from now.
