There have been many global collaborations in recent times as filmmakers and creators are trying to explore the concept of how different people from different cultures and backgrounds get along with each other.
Namaste Wahala is an Indo-Nigerian collaboration that will come out on Netflix this valentine’s day. Ini Dima-Okojie, Ruslaan Mumtaz, and Richard Mofe-Damijo play the lead roles in this film while Hamisha Daryani Ahuja dons the director’s hat.
Namaste Wahala is the love story of an Indian boy and a Nigerian girl. What follows is the struggle to convince their respective parents to get their blessing and the green signal to get married to each other.
Despite all the modernization and urbanisation, there are still instances where we stick to the past. The past and traditions of our ancestors are good and should always be in our conscience but it should never be given more importance than the happiness of your loved ones.
We have all seen those cheesy romcoms or those enduring love stories but it isn’t always as easy or effortless as the superstars show it on screen. Love does not see caste, creed, gender, or religion. Love only sees the soul of the other person. Namaste Wahala takes us on a journey that shows us the ups and downs of two people who come from different parts of the world but are deeply in love with each other.
They have to struggle against the norms of society and the wishes of their loved ones to be with each other.
Namaste Wahala will be streaming on Netflix on 14th February.
