Nancy Meyers, the director-writer-producer of the 2015 hit film “The Intern” costarring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro which is soon to be remade in Hindi with Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead has made a deal to write, direct and produce a brand new film for Netflix. So far there has been no title, or synopsis for the film but sources claim it’s an ensemble comedy right up her alley.
Meyers’ directing and writing credits include films like The Parent Trap, Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday, It’s Complicated, What Women Want and The Intern. She also wrote and produced “Father of the Bride” and it’s sequel.
This knock-off deal comes after Meyers and Netflix’ 2020 partnership that led to the release of Father of the Bride Part 3 which was a short film released on Netflix socials. The short bought together the cast of “Father of the Bride” and ” Father of the Bride Part II” as well as Robert De Niro, Florence Pugh and Ben Platt. And fans of Meyers can’t just contain their excitement for its a much adored writer-director’s come-back and that too in a mood-lifter of a film. While we await more details on the casting, plot and title of the film we urge our readers to give her filmography a chance. If you’re not aware of the kind of slice-of-life films she makes, head straight to Netflix and start with The Intern for beginners.
