No, Nani hasn’t acted in a web series yet! He has done something more memorable. He has made constructive use of his production house Wall Poster Cinema to release a short film commemorating Father’s Day on YouTube. Titled Anaganaga Oka Nanna, the short film spanning 12 minutes has been directed by the actor’s sister Deepthi Ganta that is winning the hearts of social media users.
The story is about a 9-year-old girl who needs to come up with an essay as part of her homework in reference to fathers. Her mother then narrates the real-life story of her dad who has many prejudices about men and women and how the siblings faced unequal treatment through their lives. The final act then reveals how the child gives a fictional spin to that story and impresses her mom.
Produced by Wall Poster Cinema in association with Navatarangam Chalanachitram, the short film sheds several gender-associated stereotypes with elan. It’s quite a progressive attempt coming from a major actor like Nani who hadn’t made his mark on the digital platform yet. Interestingly, he found Prashant Varma, director of his other feature production Awe, through the latter’s short film titled The Silent Melody. We hope Nani also finds time for his on-screen digital entry soon!
