Nani’s landmark 25th film ‘V’ created a sensation by announcing that it is skipping theatres and heading straight to digital. Fans of the star had been waiting breathlessly for the movie since the time it was announced that Nani’s role in V is decidedly different. And now we know how different – Nani plays the antagonist in V. The movie has been bought by Amazon Prime Video for a digital premiere, and it will drop on the platform on 5th September.
V is directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti and stars Nani, Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao Hydari along with Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Nassar and Srinivas Avasarala. It is an action thriller that has Nani playing a killer on the loose.
And here comes the best part. Nani tells us what exactly he will be doing when V premieres on Amazon Prime Video. As we’ve seen with previous OTT releases, Amazon Prime usually holds premieres of big ticket releases at midnight or close to midnight. Well, on the night that V releases, Nani will be as excited as a kid in a candy shop, and will stay up till late into the night, reading the chatter about the movie on social media.
Twitteratti and Insta-folk are the most prompt in pronouncing their verdicts on a new, buzzing release. Not only that, some very interesting insights, views and thoughts are shared by netizens on social media. Nani doesn’t want to be late to the party by any chance. And he’ll be up, awake and monitoring all the comments and reactions that float in on social media.
In a chat with The Hindu, Nani said, “I will be glad to track the comments online from midnight when it begins streaming. I have a unique role and the film gets a unique release.”
