The teaser of Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy. was unveiled a short while ago and it clearly implies that Nani is returning to the big screens in style with this periodic action drama. The teaser is loaded with aesthetic visuals that depict the erstwhile Kolkata backdrop. Nani is seen as a rebel who fights against the infamous Devadasi system.
After two OTT outings – V, and Tuck Jagadish, Nani needed something substantial to mark his return to the big screens, and fittingly enough Shyam Singh Roy has the grandeur and the upscale value that one would expect. Nani looks sharp in Bengali attire and he has undergone a visible transformation for the film. Sai Pallavi appears to have bagged one of the meatier roles of the lot. She carries the right intensity in the teaser. Young actress Krithi Shetty seems to have bagged a glamour-oriented role. or at least that is what the lip-lock scene towards the end of the teaser suggests.

The teaser implies that Shyam Singha Roy is set in two varying timelines. The emphasis is obviously on the periodic one, set in Kolkata backdrop and it will essentially form the crux of the film. Rahul Sankrityan, who debuted with Taxiwaala has come up with an intense social drama in periodic set-up this time around with Shyam Singha Roy.
Shyam Singha Roy arrives in theatres on the 24th of December and Nani is pinning high hopes on the same. The film has Nani, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles.
