After much hustle with ‘Tuck Jagadish’ that ultimately went for digital release on Amazon Prime Video, Telugu star Nani is finally getting what he wanted for a long time. His upcoming film ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, set in Kolkata and based on the theme of reincarnation, is all set for a theatrical release this Christmas on 24th December, 2021.
Revealing the release date and new posters for ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ that will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, Nani wrote “This Christmas
Shyam will arrive where he belongs 🙂
To the big screen and to your hearts 🤍TELUGU,TAMIL,MALAYALAM,KANNADA
DECEMBER 24th 🔥
#ShyamSinghaRoy”
During ‘Tuck Jagadish’, Nani with a heavy heart left the decision of its release in the hands of the producers who given the financial constraints went ahead with a direct-to-OTT release for the film. ‘Tuck Jagadish’ was Nani’s second film following ‘V’ that had skipped the theatres.
But now with ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, directed by Rahul Sankrityan and starring Nani, Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian in prominent roles, ‘Jersey’ star is happily back to the big screen. Nani is a big fan of theatres and has been quite vocal on social media about his advocacy for films and the entire film industry getting their rightful due in cinemas.
While there’s all this excitement and nervousness of the film’s performance, there’s a big twist too as Nani’s ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ heads for a massive clash at the box office. What Allu Arjun’s pan India film ‘Pushpa – The Rise’ averted by preponing the film by a week, Nani’s supernatural thriller has taken head on and is ready for a face off with Ranveer Singh’s ’83’ that is also releasing in theatres this Christmas.
Although the clash wouldn’t have nationwide spread, it will surely be felt in the significant southern market as ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ will not be releasing in Hindi whereas ‘83’ is coming out in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
