Natalie Portman Bags Another Book Adaptation, This Time An HBO Film!

Natalie Portman is all ready for another intense film. She has signed up to lead a HBO Films Production based on a bestselling novel by author Elena Ferrante. The movie titled “Days Of Abandonment”, same as that of the book, will star Portman as a woman named Tess. The movie is said to be in early productions at the moment.

The movie will be following the life of Tess, who at a certain point in time gives up her dreams of fulfilling her career and wishes. She abandoned those dreams just so that she could have a stable family life. The family life she dreamt of at a certain point is all there for her but all of sudden one fine, she finds herself abandoned. Her husband, for whom she gave up her dreams, seems to abandon her and that results in her world turning upside down.

Maggie Betts is all set to write, direct and executive produce the project. Natalie Portman will also be executive producing her movie along with her long time friend Sophie Mas, under the duo’s production banner MountainA Productions. Maven Screen Media along with Crash&Salvage and also author Elena Ferrante have joined the team as executive producers.

The movie announcement has come up after the news of the actress starring in Apple’s limited series “Lady in the Lake” was announced. The series too is based on a novel of the same name. She will be joined by actress Lupita Nyong’o for the same. It was later revealed that MountainA Productions have also signed an exclusive deal with the streamer.

Natalie Portman, who is known worldwide for her versatile roles and acting is going head on with book adaptation with the recent announcements. We all have seen how she has been in her role in the movie “Black Swan”. That was the movie that got her the coveted Oscars. Now it seems like with Days of Abandonment she is all set to bring another intense character on screen.

Both of her upcoming projects are intense, gritty and heavy in their own way. It would be interesting to see how Portman carries out both the roles one after the other.
