One of the most anticipated follow-ups to the digital series Sacred Games (for its season 2) had turned out to be a damp squib and a disappointment to the viewers earlier this year. Probably for the first time, an actor from the series has gone onto admit the same, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama recently.
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, while promoting his upcoming feature film, had told that the reason for the lacklustre response for the series was its overtly ‘philosophical and preachy’ storytelling. Had the series focused more on action than trying to dole out philosophies one after the other, it would have done better, Nawaz had opined.
The actor had mentioned that a few new characters couldn’t fit well into the series, not helping the cause of the narrative. He felt the second season kept on trying to justify the actions of the protagonists with explanations, which didn’t work for the viewers.
