This week Chandramukhi 2 will not be the only fiasco from the Tamil film industry to arrive on Netflix India. It is joined by Iraivan.
“Iraivan,” a Tamil-language psychological action thriller, has made its way to Netflix. Directed by I. Ahmed and produced by Sudhan Sundaram and G. Jayaram under Passion Studios, the film boasts a stellar cast, with Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara, and Rahul Bose in the lead roles.
The story revolves around ACP Arjun, played by Jayam Ravi, who resigns from the police force after the tragic death of his friend Andrew while pursuing the serial killer, “Smiley Killer” Brahma, portrayed menacingly by Rahul Bose. Arjun’s life takes a dramatic turn as he becomes the protector of Andrew’s family when Brahma escapes from prison, seeking vengeance.
“Iraivan” has received mixed reviews from critics.
While Jayam Ravi’s performance, the background score, and the action sequences garnered praise, the film faced criticism for its screenwriting, soundtrack, excessive violence, and romantic scenes.
The film, originally released on September 28, 2023, will now be released on Netflix India in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. If you happen to be a fan of Jayam Ravi or Nayanthara, which is pretty easy after PS-II and Jawan respectively, then you can watch Iraivan starting from October 26.
