Neon has dropped the official teaser trailer of Ferrari, starring Adam Driver. After playing a wealthy Italian businessman, Maurizio Gucci, in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, Driver will once again play a prominent Italian businessman, Enzo Ferrari, in the upcoming biographical drama.
Ferrari will premiere this week at the Venice Film Festival. Set in 1957, the film will explore Enzo Ferrari’s personal and professional life. During that time, his company was on the brink of bankruptcy. In addition, his relationship with his wife, Laura Ferrari (Penelope Cruz), was in shambles due to the tragic death of their son. These scenarios force him to put all his hopes on the treacherous 1000-mile race in Italy, the legendary Mille Miglia.
Apart from Driver and Cruz, the film stars Shailene Woodley, Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon, Jack O’Connell, Patrick Dempsey, and more.
Ferrari is Michael Mann’s 12th directional feature. The helmer is best known for directing The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Heat (1995), The Insider (1999), Collateral (2004), and more.
The film takes inspiration from Brock Yates’ novel, Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine.
Ferrari will arrive in theatres globally on December 25. Stay tuned for more updates.
