The awesome twosome of Malayalam star Mohanlal and stellar filmmaker Jeethu Joseph are back together for a new film. Titled ‘Neru’, the just announced film is said to be a legal thriller. Mohanlal unveiled the first look of ‘Neru’ on social media this evening.

‘Neru’ is written by Jeethu Joseph and actress Santhi Mayadevi. The latter had also acted in Joseph’s Drishyam 2. Santhi Mahadevi is a lawyer by profession, and thus is the best co-writer for Neru, given that it is a legal thriller. Interestingly, the tagline for ‘Neru’ is “Seeking Justice”.
The rest of the crew for Neru comprises cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, music director Vishnu Shyam and editor VS Vinayak. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, under his production banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. This is the 33rd film for Antony Perumbavoor, and the fifth film together for Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph. They’ve worked together in four films before – Drishyam, Drishyam 2, 12th Man and the upcoming Ram.
Actress Priyamani will play the female lead in ‘Neru’. The first look of Neru features a book in braille, thereby hinting that blindness will be a prominent part of the plot of the film. The movie begins filming later this August.
