Netflix has acquired the rights of Charlie McDowell’s (‘The Discovery’, ‘The One I Love’) hitchcockian thriller ‘Windfall’. The film stars Jason Segel, Lily Collins and Jesse Plemons.
‘Windfall’ follows the story of a young couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find it’s being robbed. Segel and McDowell have developed the story for the film which has been written by Justin Lader and Andrew Kevin Walker.
As per sources, Netflix has acquired the rights of ‘Windfall’ in a major eight figure dollar deal. Described as a modern day noir, ‘Windfall’ is produced by Alex Orlovsky and Duncan Montgomery in association with Jack Selby, Segel, McDowell, Collins and Plemons.
David Duque Estrada, Elika Portnoy and Rick Covert serve as the executive producers for the film that finished production earlier this year.
Jason Segel is known for his roles in films like ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’, ‘Sex Tape’, ‘The End Of The Tour’ and series like ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘Freaks and Geeks’, ‘ Undeclared’ and more.
Lily Collins was recently seen in Netflix’s comedy-drama series ‘Emily in Paris’. Her other notable works include ‘The Blind Side’, ‘Abduction’ and ‘Love, Rosie’ among others.
Jesse Plemons is a well known name in the industry for his roles in ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’, ‘Fargo’, ‘Balck Mirror and many more.
