Netflix Acquires Streaming Rights Of ‘Hit Man’ For Record Price!

The streaming rights of ‘Hit Man’ are now with Netflix after the OTT giant grabbed the rights for the film for a whopping 20 Million USD. Hit Man debuted in September 2023 in the 80th Venice International Film Festival and had its world premiere on September 5, followed shortly afterward by its North American premiere on September 11 at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.

Netflix acquired distribution rights to the film for 20 Million USD at TIFF which equates 166 crore Indian Rupees, making it the largest film deal of the festival and of 2023. There are plans for a theatrical release for the movie too.

Hit Man is an action comedy that tells the story of a professional killer named Gary Johnson, who is in reality an intelligence agent. He takes assignments from people and does his job with finesse, but he has a secret and that is he works for the police. While he tries to save a woman from her abusive husband, he gets trapped into a tricky situation.

The movie stars Glen Powell in the lead role and is directed by Richard Linklater. The screenplay of the movie is written by Linklater and Powell together. The movie alsp stars actors like Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Molly Kate, Mike Markoff and many others. Richard Linklater has previously worked with Glen Powell in movies like ‘Everybody Wants Some!!’ and ‘Apollo 10½’.

The release dates are not revealed yet but Hit Man will be premiering on Netflix very soon. Netflix’s deal with a Record breaking price and its appreciation from the International film festivals are creating quite a buzz around the movie.
