We all love Adam Sandler when he plays comedic and humorous characters. But it is quite true that we love him in serious roles more. Netflix’s upcoming sports drama ‘Hustle‘ features Adam Sandler in the quite serious, driven role of a basketball scout, who is teetering on the edge of his career but still risks it all to do good by his young protégé.
Netflix has just revealed the trailer for Hustle, and on the face of it, the movie looks inspiring and uplifting. Real-life NBA player Juancho Hernangómez plays the role of a gifted Spanish basketball player with a chequered past. Hustle premieres on Netflix on June 10.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads thus –
“Sandler leads as Stanley Sugarman, a down-on-his-luck basketball scout who, while abroad, discovers Bo Cruz (Juancho Hernangómez), a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past. Sandler’s scout takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to America without his team’s approval. Against the odds, Stanley and Bo have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.”
The ‘Hustle’ trailer lays bare the story, and what it means to relentlessly pursue your dream, even if it may end in sadness. ‘Hustle’ also stars Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, Ben Foster, Jaleel White, Jordan Hull, JoJo Siwa, and former NBA player turned analyst, Kenny Smith.
Adam Sandler fans will be excited to watch the underrated actor flex his acting chops in a serious, author-backed role. The last time he did it, in the Safdie brothers’ Netflix film ‘Uncut Gems’, he received rave reviews, with many calling it his career’s best performance.
Adam Sandler has also produced ‘Hustle’, along with NBA star, LeBron James. Hustle arrives on Netflix on June 10. Have a look at the trailer of the film –
