The pandemic was a dark time for everyone and Michelle Obama, the former First Lady, was no exception. During quarantine she could not help but feel lost, hopeless, afraid and confused. That struggle led her down a path of reflection and also sparked a thought she couldn’t shake: “When the world feels so dark, how do you protect your own light?”
And that led her to writing the book ‘The Lightt We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times’. The bestseller digs into the tools she developed to move forward with positivity, and also offers a toolbox for others to cope with life’s struggles and find their own light.
Michelle Obama carried out a book tour for the same and her last stop was a sit-down with her friend, Oprah Winfrey which is now coming to Netflix. It will be a 80 minute special where Obama shares personal stories with Winfrey about her childhood and family, revealing hard-earned wisdom about relationships, aging and friendships and more.
She also introduces the audience to the tools she’s developed to deal with stress and change, including sage advice about building a kitchen table filled with friends you can trust. ‘The Light We Carry: Michelle Obama & Oprah Winfrey’ is directed by Linda Mendoza and produced by Higher Ground Productions and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
The poignant conversation that is ‘The Light We Carry: Michalle Obama & Oprah Winfrey’ will premiere only on Netflix on 25th April, 2023.
