Extremely happy with the astonishing response to its unscripted shows, ‘Love is Blind’ and ‘The Circle’, streaming giant Netflix has awarded two-season renewals to both shows.
It has also renewed the Hip-hop competition series, Rhythm + Flow for a second season after the first season was well-received by viewers.
Love is Blind is a dating reality show, hosted by Vanessa Lachey and her husband Nick Lachey. It has a group of single men and women finding love on the show, not on the basis of looks, but on the basis of chats they have with potential suitors through solo pods. The show consistently ranked number one in the USA on Netflix, generating humongous buzz in the media and among viewers.
The Circle, hosted by Michelle Buteau, is a unique social experiment competition series, where contestants compete with each other for a $100,000 prize.
Both Love is Blind and The Circle were largely word of mouth hits.
Rhythm + Flow is a hip-hop competition series, where contestants are judged by musicians Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and Tip “T.I.” Harris.
“It’s been incredible to see Netflix members everywhere respond to the raw, authentic stories of real people and real stakes,” said Brandon Riegg, VP, Nonfiction and Comedy Specials at Netflix. “We pride ourselves on creating a favorite show for any taste, and we’re thrilled fans embraced all of these series with such enthusiasm and shared passion. We look forward to sparking more joy for our members,” he added.
