It’s a sad sad news to begin your day with. Netflix shuts down another popular show. And this time it’s a super-natural Thriller. “Locke & Key” was one of Netflix’s appreciated supernatural shows and it also garnered eye-balls. But it seems like Netflix is bidding adieu to the show with it’s third season. The upcoming season of Netflix’s Locke & Key will be its last.
Based on IDW comic books by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, the show’s third season will unveil it’s final chapter with a deemed fitting conclusion. Post the breakout success of Locke & Key‘s first season, Netflix teamed up with the creatives to continue the show with a ten episode format second season and eight episode format third season following a ten episode maiden season.
“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” said Cuse and Averill who are the executive producers and co-showrunners of Locke & Key in a statement.
The post-production on the finale season is undergoing currently. However a release date is not yet unveiled by the streamer. Locke & Key premiered in February 2020 with a second season renewal announced in March 2020. The season three was ordered in December and both seasons were filmed back to back. The Season 2 dropped in October 2021.
Locke and Key‘s main cast comprises of Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Brendan Hines, Sherri Saum, Kevin Durand and Coby Bird. And just like that another good show is nearing it’s culmination. Please stay tuned on more details regarding the release date of Locke & Key third season.
