Netflix’s “Break It All” Shows the History of Rock in Latin America

This year seems to be a year of documentaries. With innumerable and also memorable documentaries coming out this, this last month of the year is also not far behind. Out of the documentaries that are releasing this, one of them is “Break It All: The History of Rock in Latin America”. The trailer itself will make you rock in its tunes and that’s just the trailer, we don’t even know how great the journey of this documentary will be.

The documentary will start from where the love of rock and its emergence started especially for the Latin countries and how they began with their successful journeys. The show focuses on how as usual how rock was at times looked down upon and no matter what the followers and love received from them always outnumbered the ones that brought the music down. This is probably a case for every rock scene in almost all countries, but it could be understood, how things take a different meaning when people put you in the limelight.

Working through dictatorship, disasters and dissent as it is mentioned in the description, rock music has gone through a very “rocky” phase but it has survived through it all and emerged as one of the leading genres of music in the Latin dominated countries of the world. The documentary seems to be a good way to explain how always rock music gets hindered by the politics and beliefs of various people and the history of Latin American Rock is no different.

As the title suggests, “Break It All” let’s see if understanding music in countries that went through so much, how rock evolved and was it really able ‘break it all’ for that matter. This should be in the must watch list of music fans and especially the devotees of rock music for sure.
