Netflix is the hub for all new and young actors, which has been proven with the number of shows it produces with young stars leading them. Netflix has given breaks to many of today’s rising stars and all of them have successfully proven themselves with their talent. Netflix continuously keeps exploring different genres involving these young stars and their most recent movie announcement is about a new dark comedy starring some of Netflix’s leading young stars.
Netflix recently announced their new dark comedy movie and it is titled “Strangers”. The movie has a very interesting plot for sure but what makes it more interesting is the huge cast that it involves. The streaming platform has roped in many young stars to set an impeccable ensemble cast. The creators now have roped in Austin Abrams of “Dash and Lily” fame, Alisha Boe of “13 Reasons Why” fame, Talia Ryder (West Side Story), Paris Berelc (Hubie Halloween), Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks), Maia Reficco (Next To Normal) and Ava Capri (Love, Victor).
This team joins an already interesting cast that includes Riverdale star Camila Mendes, Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner, Rish Shah, and “Little Women”, “Stranger Things” star Maya Hawke. Even though the movie has an ensemble cast, reportedly Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke are headlining the movie as Drea and Eleanor. Also, it is being reported that Sophie Turner’s role might actually be a cameo in the movie.
As for the plot, the movie will be presented as an unsettling, Hitchcockian style dark comedy that will showcase two teenage girls, who are described as the world’s most dangerous creatures. The movie will follow the stories of Drew and Eleanor, who after a super secretive meet-cute get ready to take down each other’s bullies, helping in clearing each other’s paths.
The movie will be directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson who has earlier directed Netflix’s “Someone Great”. She is known to be one behind the writing department of “Thor: Love and Thunder”. Robinson has also co-written the script along with Celeste Ballard. The movie will be produced by Robinson along with Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron for Likely Story.
