Netflix CEO Says These Are Still Early Days In Indian Digital Space

Only a month ago, it was reported that Netflix had posted significant profits for the first time in India.

It is now gearing up to amp its original productions for India by investing around 3000 Cr in the coming two years.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, who is currently in India, spoke at the on-going HT Leadership Summit, revealing some interesting data. Hasting said that:

Sacred Games, Our first original production in India, is a global success. However what took everyone by surprise was the figure of 27 million people viewing, Very Little BEING outside India.

“There are over 160 million subscribers for Netflix across the world. The current phase in India since its launch is only early days. You will see a lot of new stuff hitting the screen, and big investments are being made.”
