Leading streaming service provider Netflix is no stranger to causing ripples in the entertainment world with its intelligent and mind-bending releases from time to time. A few months ago the ripple-starter was its sci-fi thriller series ‘3 Body Problem’.
Heralded by fans as ‘the perfect science lesson’, the show was adapted from ‘The Three-Body Problem’, a story by Chinese science fiction author Liu Cixin. The plot revolves around a learned educator who delivers a lecture shedding light on the complex three-body problem in a detailed and easy-to-understand manner.
Fortunately, or unfortunately for fans of the drama, Netflix recently announced that it was being renewed for a few more additional episodes. The catch: the upcoming episodes will conclude the epic series. However, there’s no word yet, as to how many seasons or episodes this order will entail. The showrunners had previously hoped to get a total of four seasons to adapt Liu’s trilogy.
While 3 Body Problem initially drew some mixed reviews, its Rotten Tomatoes critic and audience scores eventually rose to 80 percent and 78 percent, respectively. This followed a lukewarm response in the first week. The show then went on to secure a position in Netflix’s TV chart for three weeks and even spent 7 weeks in the global Top 10.
