OTT giant Netflix has continued its winning streak on the latest Nielsen overall top ten streaming titles list (for the week of 23rd to 29th January 2023). Because seven out of the ten titles are streaming on Netflix and out of those, the top five titles have also been bagged by Netflix.
Despite its mixed feedback, this week’s top spot on the Nielsen top ten list is held by the romantic comedy movie ‘You People’ and it boasts of a whopping 1.57 billion minutes of viewing. The movie revolves around a couple (played by Jonah Hill and Lauren London), who must deal with clashing cultures and generational differences among their families and the tricky situation of meeting each other’s parents.
And the last week’s top ranked title ‘Ginny & Georgia’ now holds the second spot on the Nielsen list with a still impressive 1.29 billion minutes of viewing.
HBO’s widely acclaimed video game to small screen series adaptation ‘The Last Of Us’ has retained its sixth place on the Nielsen top 10 streaming list with 877 million minutes under its belt from three episodes. The post-apocalyptic series recently became the first ever series from 2023 to be included amongst the top 250 TV shows of all time on IMDb and got a big thumbs-up from audiences and critics.
Other titles on the Nielsen top ten streaming list include ‘The Walking Dead’ series (1.03 billion minutes), ‘That 90s Show’ (963 million minutes), ‘Cocomelon’ (929 million minutes), and ‘Shotgun Wedding’, (872 million minutes).
