Content has never been more varied or more available to us than ever before. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic locking us indoors, OTT giants such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Apple TV+ among others have been creating and releasing more and more original content on their digital platforms. And the one thing that Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have been doing better than the others, has been their thought-provoking, eye-opening documentaries over the last few years. Netflix will be adding one more to their ever-growing list about the infamous 1999 London bombings titled ‘Nail Bomber: Manhunt’.
Amazon Prime Video has found/ popularized a niche style of documentary filmmaking – the fly-on-the-wall, single-camera sports documentary. Their Leeds United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs documentaries have been amazing and even got a lot of non-football fans into the sport and supporting for these teams. Netflix, on the other hand, has been creating a lot more controversial documentaries as well as some eye-opening ones, getting more and more people to look at a second or a third side of an infamous/ well-known situation.
For the upcoming terrorist attack disaster documentary, ‘Nail Bomber: Manhunt‘, the film will focus on the bombings, the people who were targeted at, the investigation behind the scenes, and the people involved in the crime. Based on the aforementioned 1999 London nail bombings, said bombings were targeting the Black British, Bengali British and the LGBTQ community in London. There were three bombings and each bomb had 1500 4-inch nails, which were kept in a carry bag, out in public.
The trailer for this upcoming 72-minute documentary came out over a day ago. Check out a glimpse of the London disaster down below:
