Netflix Ditches Apple’s Entertainment Vision

You can definitely feel the tension between Netflix and Apple, as the former just refused to ‘cooperate’ with the latter. Apple, while building its Vision Pro, promised an all-in-one entertainment system, intending it to be a replacement for a home theater.

A few months back, there arose a controversy that Apple is determined to make companies develop a version of their app for their headset. There was also another option that the headset can run the iPad version of the same app.

And, it was revealed that Apple won’t be giving any compensation for the newer app. So, some companies opted for the iPad version to run. And, it was supposed that Netflix was one of them.

But as Queen’s Gambit, Netflix screams ‘checkmate’ with its latest step.

The red and black brand announced that they will not allow the iPad version to run on the headset, and this comes out as a massive concern. During July, they already announced that Netflix would not develop a new app, but now, the iPad one won’t work either.

So, how will the users stream the shows?

Yes, think of it as the worst form of torture, as users will have to go through the web version of the platform.

Now, the web version isn’t the worst, but the Vision Pro buyers haven’t really signed up for that. And this step will harm Apple far more than it will harm Netflix. And like Jio, Netflix is really free to make a VR headset to give users a prime experience.

Besides that, it will be a strong statement by Netflix, as more apps might follow the same trend soon. Apple is already notorious for its treatment towards the apps in the App Store.
