Netflix has released a new teaser for its upcoming film ‘Leave The World Behind’ and its eerily chilling. Based on the best selling novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam, ‘Leave the World Behind’ will release in select theatres in November and premiere on Netflix on 8th December, 2023.
‘Leave The World Behind’ teaser shows how two families and the rest of America is about to face what they couldn’t have ever imagined. A cyber attack like none other disrupts all of their lives for forever and they aren’t ready for it. The film is the story of survival of those two families amid an inexplicable blackout.
An apocalyptic thriller from award-winning writer and director Sam Esmail (‘Mr. Robot’), ‘Leave The World Behind’ follows Amanda (Academy Award winner Julia Roberts) and her husband Clay (Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke) who rent a luxurious home for the weekend with their kids, Archie (Charlie Evans) and Rose (Farrah Mackenzie). Their vacation is soon upended when two strangers — G.H. (Academy Award winner Mehrshala Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha’la) — arrive in the night, bearing news of a mysterious cyberattack and seeking refuge in the house they claim is theirs. The two families reckon with a looming disaster that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world.
Starring Julia Roberts (also serves as producer for the film), Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la, Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans and Kevin Bacon, ‘Leave The World Behind’ is produced by Esmail Corp, Red Om Films, and executive produced by Higher Ground Productions. Executive producers for the film include Rumaan Alam, Barack and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Daniel M. Stillman and Nick Krishnamurthy. ‘Leave The World Behind’ will land on Netflix on 8th December, 2023.
