Netflix Drops ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ First Look

Netflix has revealed the star-studded voice cast of its upcoming animated film, Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.

The voice cast treasures talents like Olivia Colman (Past), Luke Evans (Scrooge), Johnny Flynn (Bob Cratchit), and Jessie Buckley (Isabel Fezziwig). Plus, the supporting cast consists of Giles Terera (Tom Jenkins), Fra Fee (Harry Huffam), James Cosmo (Mr Fezziwig), Trevor Dion Nicholas (Present), and Jonathan Pryce (Jacob Marley).

The upcoming adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is produced by Timeless Films and Axis Studios. The duo of Ralph Kamp and Andrew Pearce will handle the film’s production duties along with Gareth Kamp and Rebecca Kamp serving as the film’s co-producers.

The CG animated project will surface on Netflix in December. This adaptation will be a musical, with the reimagined songs from Leslie Bricusse. The legendary British composer is prominent for his work in Doctor Dolittle, Home Alone, Superman, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Donnelly recently spilled some beans about his upcoming directional: “It’s been a fascinating challenge to adapt such a beloved and often-told story. I think this version will give those who know A Christmas Carol all the things they expect, but not as they’ve experienced them before. There are more than enough psychedelic, time-travelling and musical surprises to keep those familiar with the story on the edge of their seats, while the authentic essence of Dickens has been retained for those coming completely fresh to the classic tale.”

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol, starring Olivia Colman and Luke Evans, will hit the Netflix streaming service in December. Stay tuned for more updates.
