Netflix Drops The Second Season Of Its Controversial But Hit Show, Messiah

Netflix started its 2020 account with the controversial show Messiah. The series gained instant attention due to its premise, but soon it ran into controversy over the principal role, Al-Masih, modelled on Isa.

Messiah was critically not that appreciated but was a success for Netflix thanks to its controversies. However, the head honchos at Netflix has decided to drop the series for its second season.

Many say it could be due to the massive cross-continent production that involves the making of the series. Under the current, coronavirus threat and spread, it would be impossible to shoot the show.

The primary cast and crew of Messiah have been informed of the development earlier. Some of them took to social media to share the news to the fans of the show immediately.

There is a mixed reaction among the general public though. It is because the verdict on the show was divided among them. Some have liked it while others haven’t. But, trust Netflix to backtrack their words if there is enough demand for the show in the near future. It also helps in the conditions improve.
