The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming thriller mystery web series ‘Gone For Good’, has dropped on the streaming platform’s official YouTube channel. This French mini-series was adapted from the stand-alone best-seller novel of the same name by American crime writer Harlan Coben, which was published in 2002. NBC had announced, back in 2013, that they were going to adapt the novel into a TV series but they didn’t follow through. Now, we will have another content to view during our Independence-Day Weekend (which we don’t think Netflix actually planned for – just a happy coincidence), which is when the TV series will premiere on the OTT platform. Check out the trailer at the end of this article.
The first thing you notice in the ‘Gone For Good’ trailer, is that unlike the recent trailers of late, this promotional video doesn’t give away the plot of the film at all. Sure, we get a basic premise for the web series, but it remains suspenseful and has us wishing for more – like all promo videos should. However, the caption underneath the Netflix trailer gives away more of the plot than it should, so in our opinion – don’t read it.
The premise of the trailer is simple – A young man, Guillaume is in a loving relationship with his girlfriend, Judith. He proposes to her, she accepts and then she goes home for the night. We see Judith crying, so we know something bad is going to happen. A few seconds later, it is the next day and Guillaume has gone to Judith’s apartment. Unable to find her, he starts asking around – their mutual friends, family, co-workers and neighbours. However, after interacting with them he finds out that Judith had lied to him about her whereabouts, quite a few times and she was not the woman he thought she was.
The French thriller series ‘Gone For Good’ will premiere on August 13th 2021 on Netflix.
