Netflix is bringing a behind the scenes documentary about the rising K-pop sensation Blackpink called Blackpink: Light Up The Sky. The film launched by the streaming service will chart the rise of the band, which found its way into the Billboard Top 100 with Ice Cream, their recent collaboration with Selena Gomez.
Black Pink members include Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, who will also provide exclusive interviews for the film. They will speak about their rise to stardom, the ups and downs of being a K-pop star and the band’s recording process. The film will also feature their 2019 performance at Coachella with new never-before-seen footage.

They have gone on to collaborate with international stars like Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga besides Selena Gomez. They have won numerous accolades including being the first K-pop girl band to win an MTV Music Video Award. The documentary film is set to drop two weeks after Blackpink will release their first full-length album titled ‘The Album’. The doc will be directed by Salt Fat Acid Heat director Caroline Suh.
Blackpink: Light Up The Sky is set to launch on October 14th 2020. To commemorate Netflix’s first K-pop doc, the OTT platform will also make the four Blackpink members into Netflix icons.
