We at Binged had informed our readers earlier about Jennifer Lopez producing an animated movie on the beloved children’s franchise ‘Bob The Builder’. Now, there’s a fresh update on the movie, and it is quite an interesting one.
As production on the ‘Bob The Builder’ movie takes off, there’s news that all the big players in the content world, including Netflix, Amazon MGM & DreamWorks Animation, are keen to grab a share of the pie. A fierce bidding war has erupted amongst the content giants, along with fat offers to grab exclusive rights to Jennifer Lopez’s Bob The Builder animated movie.
Amazon already has several Jennifer Lopez properties in its kitty, including the recent film, ‘This Is Me Now: A Love Story’, documentary film, ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’ and the upcoming, ‘Unstoppable: The Anthony Robles Story’. Netflix is obviously itching to get its hands on a JLo property too, which explains its keenness for the Bob The Builder movie.
The upcoming ‘Bob The Builder’ comes from Mattel Films, and will star ‘In the Heights’ star Anthony Ramos as the voice of the titular character. The film is being produced by Jennifer Lopez, under her Nuyorican Productions, along with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico of ShadowMachine, which won the Oscar last year for its production, ‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’.
The official synopsis of the ‘Bob The Builder’ movie reads – “Roberto aka Bob travels to Puerto Rico for a major construction job, takes on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey celebrates the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Jennifer Lopez’s Bob The Builder movie will celebrate the resilience of the Latino culture, through Bob’s famous motto “Yes we can!“, which is “Si se puede” in Spanish. Stay tuned to Binged for further updates on who grabs the rights to the film.
