Netflix is gearing up for adapting Ubisoft video game ‘Beyond Good And Evil’ into a feature film and is roping in Rob Letterman to direct it, as per a prominent online news portal. The movie will supposedly be a hybrid live action-animation film.
Earlier, a media agency had reported that Netflix is in talks with Ubisoft for adaptation of The Splinter Cell into an animated series. Looks like Netflix is trying to spread its wings as wide as possible when it comes to diversifying its content catalogue.
Rob Letterman is known for his animation film ‘Pokémon: Detective Pikachu’ that released last year and also for films like Gulliver’s Travels and Goosebumps. The film will be produced by Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin for Ubisoft Film & Television.
Beyond Good And Evil is an action-adventure video game that came back in 2003. The player follows the adventures of ‘Jade’ who is an investigative reporter trained in martial arts and works for a resistance movement to reveal a planet-wide alien conspiracy. The player has to solve puzzles and fight enemies through photographic evidences.
The track of ‘Beyond Good And Evil’ seems pretty interesting and that ups the expectations from both Netflix and Rob Letterman when it comes to its movie adaptation.
