We’ve news for all ‘Dead To Me‘ fans!
Good news: There is going to be another season.
Bad news: It will be the final season.
Starring Christina Applegate, Linda Cardinelli and James Marsden, season one was released on Netflix in May 2019 and a year later, on May 2020, they dropped season two. But now, the makers have revealed that season three will not be out by May 2021 but a little later.
“From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human,” said Liz Feldman, the creator of Netflix’s ‘Dead To Me’ in a statement. “I’ll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, cast and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one, and I’m thrilled to continue our collaboration,” she added.
The cast has not begun shooting due to the coronavirus pandemic but they wish to start soon. “I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so,” Christina Applegate tweeted.
Previous seasons of this dark comedy web series received highly positive responses and one of the leads, Applegate, was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy series at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. The story is about two women trying to make peace with their lives without their partners. Jen’s husband was killed in a hit-and-run case and Judy’s fiance died of a heart attack. They meet each other at therapy sessions and that’s where their friendship blossoms. The show is filled with murders, twists and revelations! You can expect the same from season three. No date has been declared yet but Netflix will continue to play their host.
