Netflix Hints ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ Digital Premiere!

Tips Films recently announced ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’, a sequel to Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao’s debut film ‘Ishq Vishk’ and this article is all about why we believe it’s going to be an OTT release and that too for its own good.

To begin with, Netflix today quote tweeted a story from a major media group on ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ announcement that mentions how one of the cast is Hrithik Roshan’s cousin while one other is star actor from the iconic film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and said “KYA BAAT KAR RAHA HAI YAAR ❤️” that translates to “What are you saying buddy!”

While that’s a big hint there by Netflix that ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ might turn up at Netflix rather than in theatres, we think it would also be the right thing to do. That’s because this one has all the right ingredients for a direct-to-OTT release.

‘Isha Vishk Rebound’ looks like a coming-of-age gen Z college romance drama, a storyline that makes it a better fit for OTT rather than the big screen. Moreover, the young cast has a greater appeal among the digital audience than the larger public in general.

Also, not to forget, the official announcement from the makers for ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ didn’t mention anything about its theatrical release, as is usually done!

‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ is directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari (‘Dhapa’, ‘Mismatched’) and stars a fresh cast that includes Rohit Saraf (‘The Sky Is Pink’, ‘Mismatched’), Hrithik Roshan’s cousin Pashmina Roshan, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ child actor Jibraan Khan and Naila Grewal (‘Tamasha’, ‘Thappad’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’).

The “Gen Z” romance drama has begun shooting and is produced by Ramesh Taurani while Jaya Taurani serves as the co-producer.
