The unique feature of Netflix where a few selected trailers are automatically played at the home page has come under severe criticism recently. And if one were to listen to the angry voices, they have every reason to be so.
Many have been complaining that Netflix has shown all the juicy bits and spoiling the enjoyment in the process for the newly released musical horror thriller The Perfection. While the buzz was gaining on that acclaimed director Edgar Right joined in and reacted sharply to the trailer of his film, The World’s End.
According to Edgar Right, the auto-trailer spoils the viewers who are yet to watch The World’s End by giving away the ending. The movie was part of a trilogy that is popularly referred to as The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.
Giving away way too much than required has been a growing concern from many users. Will the Netflix take stock of the situation now or will it go ahead unconcerned and unfazed needs to be seen. Of course, one has to keep in mind that it is a general trend with the trailers these days rather than being restricted to Netflix alone.
