In case you are a regular Binged reader, you might be aware that just a few months back, we had brought to your attention the inclusion of two Indian movies in listicles by renowned international publications.
The first one was Chaitanya Tamhane’s Marathi language film ‘The Disciple’ that found a place in Rotten Tomatoes ‘Best Movies 2021’ list. The second movie was Arati Kadav’s science fiction film ‘Cargo’ starring Vikrant Massey and Shweta Sharma which quietly made its way to a Slashfilm listicle.
And now, eminent entertainment website Collider has collated a list of seven international true-crime docuseries to watch on Netflix. These include titles from several countries namely Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Spain, France, South Korea, and India. The Indian documentary series included in the coveted list was ‘House of Secrets: Burari Deaths’, which is streaming on Netflix India.
‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’ is a three-part true-crime documentary series by ‘Parched’ creator Leena Yadav and Anubhav Chopra. It revolves around the unsettling truths and various theories relating to the deaths of eleven people of the same family in the Burari area of Delhi in the year 2018. The show is currently rated a decent 7.6 on IMDb. Moreover, the series also became a regular title on Netflix India’s top ten series list after its release.
So, in case you still haven’t seen ‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’ on Netflix, you can watch it this weekend. And if you have already seen it, here is the link to the aforementioned listicle compiled by Collider that features true crime docu-series that narrates chilling real-life stories from around the world.

After Chaitanya Tamhane’s intense music-based drama ‘The Disciple’, Arati Kadav’s philosophical sci-fi film ‘Cargo’, and now Leena Yadav’s true-crime docu-series ‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’, we hope that the trend of genuinely good Indian movies and shows garnering global appreciation continues and more such Indian titles populate such international listicles.
