Analysis
So, as you can pretty easily see from the slate, there was no original film in May. There was no original series in April. The consistency is really screaming.
Anyway, we begin with The Royals. The platform released its much-awaited magnum opus, and the response was a puff. It became a big-time success. The views were definitely good, and Netflix has even renewed the show for a second season. So definitely a commercial success, but it is a really badly written show. It is an utter disappointment if you think about it, plus nobody would have watched it if not for the glamour.
Coming to the licensed films section, it is not much better. If we remove HIT: The Third Case, then no film stood out. The platform was all dry the entire month. A little relief was the reception towards John Abraham’s The Diplomat. It was also decent. The performance of Netflix India was below average in the last month. But due to the commercial success of The Royals, we can give it a 5/10.
